The pathetic way that Trump’s lawyer was forced to pay Stormy Daniels just got revealed

- Maret 09, 2018

In today’s episode of “As The Porn Star Turns,” Trump lawyer Micahel Cohen explained exactly where he got the $130,000 that he paid Stephanie Clifford, better known as porn actress Stormy Daniels, for keeping quiet about a supposedly non-existent affair with Donald Trump.

Cohen revealed the source of the funds he used for the payment as he was responding to allegations from Michael Avenatti, Ms. Daniels lawyer, that he had used a Trump.org email address when the payments were made just a few days before the 2016 presidential election. Avenatti provided copies of the emails to ABC News to support his claims that President Trump knew all about the payments.

The president’s attorney denied that his use of his Trump.org email account to correspond about the settlement meant that Trump knew about it.

“Mr. Avenatti has clearly allowed his 15 minutes of fame to affect his ludicrous conclusions. The earth-shattering uncovered email between myself and the bank corroborates all my previous statements; which is I transferred money from one account at that bank into my LLC and then wired said funds to Ms. Clifford’s attorney in Beverly Hills, California. How Mr. Avenatti or the media at large believes this to be ‘breaking news’ is a mystery to me,” Cohen responded to ABC News.

Cohen was then asked where the $130,000 came from, after having previously denied that he was reimbursed by either the Trump Organization or the Trump campaign for the expenditure. His reply was that “the funds were taken from my home equity line and transferred internally to my LLC account in the same bank.”

What a loyal friend to the president Cohen must be! How many people would borrow $130,000 in a second mortgage against their home to pay a woman who didn’t have an affair with their employer to keep quiet about everything that didn’t happen as a surprise present from the bottom of their heart and then forget to mention it to the object of their largesse?

Avenatti isn’t buying Cohen’s lame excuse. In a statement to ABC News, he said:

“Does Mr. Cohen really think that the American people will believe him when he states that he did all of this – the negotiation, the drafting of the agreement, the communication and the payment without any knowledge whatsoever of his client Mr. Trump? So he is admitting he violated his ethical obligations of a lawyer to keep his client informed? It makes no sense and the American people are smarter than he thinks they are. They will easily see through this. This isn’t about 15 minutes of fame. It’s about months of deception and lies by Mr. Cohen about what Mr. Trump knew and when he knew it.

With Avenatti suing Cohen and Trump on Stormy Daniels’ behalf to void the agreement that prevents her from saying anything about her sexual relationship with the president because Trump never signed a copy of it, there are certain to be new developments in this soap opera in the weeks ahead. Expect Cohen and Trump to continue to strain credulity with their denials as America waits for more salacious details and a look at the photos mentioned in the agreement.
