Quincy Jones, the legendary music producer-turned Hollywood mogul, did a rare tell-all interview with pop-culture website Vulture Magazine recently, and as soon as it appeared online Wednesday morning it set newsrooms and gossip rags abuzz from Hollywood to the Hamptons.
Jones has been making and producing music since the 1950s and has worked with some of the biggest artists in the game, including Michael Jackson, Donna Summers, and Frank Sinatra, to name just a few.
In the interview, he dishes about the current state of pop music, reveals how Michael Jackson stole most of his songs, and tells the world who killed President John F. Kennedy (Hint: it wasn’t Lee Harvey Oswald).
But the bombshell buried in the story is about his relatively recent dating life – recent for an 84 year old, at least. Jones offered up the juicy details in an almost completely unprompted revelation.
The conversation first turned to racism in society, and Vulture’s David Marchese asked Jones if President Donald Trump played a role in what we’re seeing today.
“It’s Trump and uneducated rednecks,” he told Marchese bluntly. “Trump is just telling them what they want to hear. I used to hang out with him. He’s a crazy motherfucker. Limited mentally — a megalomaniac, narcissistic. I can’t stand him.”
Then, rather unexpectedly, the bomb bay doors opened and the payload began to fall.
“I used to date Ivanka, you know,” Jones asserted.
“Wait, really? Marchese responded, obviously caught off guard.
“Yes, sir. Twelve years ago. Tommy Hilfiger, who was working with my daughter Kidada, said, ‘Ivanka wants to have dinner with you.’ I said, ‘No problem. She’s a fine motherfucker.’ She had the most beautiful legs I ever saw in my life. Wrong father, though.”
No word from White House confirming or denying the relationship, and we’re sure Tommy Hilfiger will be asked to corroborate the story soon. Until then, all we can say is, “WTF?”
