Trump’s repetitive tweets today just raised serious questions about his fitness to lead

- Januari 13, 2018

In the discussion of President Trump’s mental fitness, many people who interact with the President on a daily basis have noted his penchant for repeating the same words and phrases over and over again as a sign of his intellectual decline and possible incipient dementia. Now, those of us who luckily don’t have to be in the same room as the 71-year-old Commander-in-Chief can observe the same phenomenon by simply reading his tweets.

He started his morning with a brag about the stock market and the economy under his stewardship, a frequent topic despite the fact that the majority of Americans still give credit to President Obama for the current state of the economy.

The stock market, which has been rising since way before Trump took office, is still in the boom part of the boom/bust cycle with many people wary of when the bubble will pop. Trump’s Republican tax giveaway to corporate interests will certainly make a lot of wealthy people richer, but the trickle-down effect, despite the manufactured hype of companies like AT&T, Comcast, and Walmart handing out bonuses (along with accompanying layoffs), will be no different than it has been in the past, in others words negligible.

In his next tweet, Trump tackled DACA, attacking Democrats for refusing to compromise their principles and accept an extortionary deal for an unneeded, ineffective, and ludicrously expensive border wall in exchange for reinstituting the DACA program that Trump unilaterally ended.

Trump’s obviously false accusations are an insult to the Democrats who have proffered a clean “Dreamers” act for Congressional Republicans, who control the legislative agenda to enact. The opportunities are controlled by the GOP leadership, so they are the one’s missing the opportunity. In fact, a bipartisan deal had been reached to extend the protections for the Dreamers, but it was Trump with his “shithole countries” remarks who torpedoed the deal.

Next Trump just tweeted out his campaign slogan in all caps for no apparent reason. If somebody were to check the timestamp on his tweet, however, and see what Fox News had on air a few moments before, they’d surely find the motivating factor.

It was the President’s last tweet that leads one to believe that he forgot that he sent his earlier tweet.

With practically the same language as his earlier tweet, Trump expresses the same exact same idea. Here it is, the Twitter equivalent of sitting in the corner repeating the same phrases over and over again. Too bad!
