One of the more significant developments from the stunning revelations in the Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House book by Michael Wolff has been to trigger a schism between President Trump and the defacto leader of the white nationalist “alt-right” movement, Breitbart‘s Steven K. Bannon.
Bannon reportedly told Wolff that “greasy” Jared Kushner’s money laundering activities were going to bring the entire administration down and that Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., had engaged in “treason” when he met with Russian lawyer Nataliya Veselnitskaya.
His comments have prompted a swift backlash from the White House and from their billionaire taskmasters, who have inevitably decided to side with the demented, sallow-skinned racist in the Oval Office instead of the demented sallow-skinned racist with a racist magazine.
The President took to Twitter this morning to rub his “victory” in his once close ally’s face, dubbing him “sloppy” Steve Bannon and crowing about his loss of support from the billionaire oligarchs that fund the far-right movement in the United States, Rebekah and Robert Mercer.
The Mercer Family recently dumped the leaker known as Sloppy Steve Bannon. Smart!

For his part, President Trump did not know who the Mercers were when they began to fund his campaign and was reportedly dumbfounded when they began to give him millions of dollars, reportedly saying “this thing is so f*cked up” – perhaps the one thing he was right about.
But he seems grateful to have their support now. Just a year ago, the Trump administration, the Republican Party, and all the various fringe factions of white supremacists and religious extremists were all united and poised to remake the United States in their own twisted image; today, they are descending into the kind of petulant infighting one inevitably expects to occur when you put a diverse array of sociopathic grifters and fanatic ideologues with competing agendas and no sense of loyalty to anything beyond their pocketbooks in the same room together.
While we obviously don’t know how this is going to play out, it’s both gratifying and reassuring to see these selfish jackals tear each other apart.
