The Pennsylvania Supreme Court just made a game-changing decision about Republican gerrymanders

- Januari 22, 2018

In a huge win for American democracy and for Democratic Party prospects in 2018, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that the state’s Congressional map violates the state’s constitution due to the outrageous gerrymandering that the Republican-controlled legislature has imposed on the state.

The court has ordered the map to be redrawn in time for the 2018 midterm elections, which could have huge consequences for a Republican Party likely to struggle in holding their majority.

This decision is also final; conservatives cannot pass the buck down to the Supreme Court.

Pennsylvania currently has an eighteen person delegation to the House of Representatives; thirteen Republicans and five Democrats.

Add your name to demand the president and Congress end the Trump shutdown and reopen the government NOW!

The state’s general assembly has until the 9th of February to redraw the map, which then goes to Democratic Governor Tom Wolfe for approval.

Unfortunately, the old maps will be used for the upcoming special election in March for the seat of Rep. Tim Murphy’s 18th district. Murphy resigned in disgrace after it was revealed that the pro-life “family values” politician had demanded that his mistress have an abortion.

But the pundits and analysts are ultimately calling this a big win for the Democratic Party that could be a “game-changer” in our efforts to flip the House and perhaps finally impeach President Trump.
