Special counsel Robert Mueller has charged former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn with “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI.
The infraction occurred during a December 2016 interview at which he spoke about United States sanctions on Russia with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak.

Flynn is widely expected to plead guilty to the FBI’s charge today at a 10:30 AM plea hearing. The fact that he is only facing a single charge suggests that the disgraced former national security adviser has been cooperating with or has already provided Mueller with information.
Flynn pleading guilty to a single charge obviously suggests, as news reports suggested, that he has agreed to provide Mueller with information.

This Friday morning bombshell move comes only weeks after previous charges were levied against three of Trump’s former aides, including former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, his longtime associate and former campaign adviser Rick Gates, and former foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos.
Papadopoulos has already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and has been cooperating with investigators.
Flynn famously started the “lock her up” chant at the Republican National Convention while attacking then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Trump may have promised to surround himself with “the best people,” but so far, it looks like the President’s inner circle is comprised solely of criminals.
