CNN anchor, Jake Tapper, just torched Evangelical tycoon Rev. Franklin Graham, son of the late televangelist Rev. Billy Graham, for his shocking Twitter comments about disgraced Alabama Senate candidate, Roy Moore, who has been accused by numerous women of child molestation, sexual assault, and attempted rape.
The hypocrisy of Washington has no bounds. So many denouncing Roy Moore when they are guilty of doing much worse than what he has been accused of supposedly doing. Shame on those hypocrites.

Graham decried, with no detectable irony, “the hypocrisy of Washington.” Apparently Evangelicals like Moore and Graham can’t see their own hypocrisy as moralizing members of the “Christian Right” and the party of “Family Values” who dare to defend child rape and molestation.
The CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association — who makes $622,000 per year from his “Christian relief organization,” Samaritan’s Purse, and another $285,000 per year from the BGEA — added, “So many denouncing Roy Moore when they are guilty of doing much worse than what he has been accused of supposedly doing. Shame on those hypocrites.”
Tapper fired back with a vital question for the cleric: “Who’s guilty of ‘doing much worse’ than [sexually molesting a 14-year-old girl and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl], Reverend? Seriously, this is a matter for law enforcement.”
A reminder that Moore has been accused of sexually molesting a 14 year old girl and sexually assaulting a 16 year old girl.

As Tapper says, if anyone in Washington is committing worse crimes than those of which Moore is credibly accused, they should immediately be carted off to jail. Meanwhile, how is it that a supposed Christian thinks the sexual assault of children is “not that bad?”
Recent revelations about the Evangelical cult-like group Independent Fundamentalist Baptists to which Moore belongs have shed light on other Evangelicals’ permissive attitudes toward statutory rape and child rape.
The group has encouraged courtship between grown men and underage girls, in order to train up perfect biblical help mates for these “men of God.”
Hence the commentary subsequent to the bombshell allegations against Moore, when a number of Alabama Republicans excused their candidate, saying, “Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter.”
Others, like self-published author Carroll Bryant, have said, “I’d rather have a pedophile in office rather than a democrat [sic] any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Pedophiles only screw kids while democrats screw everyone.” Bryant also said, “I don’t put pedophiles on a pedestal. I just think they are morally superior than baby killing socialists….”
In other words, the 40% of Alabama Evangelicals who have doubled down on their support for Moore since the allegations believe one must not for any reason abort a fetus, but once you bring a baby into the world, they are fair game for dirty old men.
Even though she said she has “no reason to disbelieve Moore’s accusers,” Alabama’s Governor Kay Ivey, a woman, today told the press that she too intends to vote for the alleged child molester.
Alabama “Christians” are showing their true colors. Their movement was never about “Family Values” and morality, in the first place. It has always been about white supremacy and the subjugation of women and LGBTQ people — what Rev. William Barber calls “the Slaveholder religion.”
With his tweet, Mr. Tapper is exposing the criminal hypocrisy of a group that is trying to drag our society back into the dark ages.
